The Funnel

The concept of "The Funnel" is not new in recruiting, although the various computer programmatic implementations are few and far between. Every program purports to assist the recruiter in his daily task of finding the best people for his best companies, but every attempt usually falls quite short.

Generally, though the concept may be worthwhile, the implementation is clumsy, confusing and more of an impediment to the placement process, than an actual assist.

Our implementation succeeds where others fail - and sometimes, miserably. There are two hotlists that are recruiter-maintained, consisting of the (best) people you are now looking at, and the (best) joborders you are now working with, and with just a click of the mouse, here and there, you have 'matched' them up, and started the cycle of evaluation that leads up to successful presentation of the person to the company, and the follow-up necessary to complete the transaction.

Displayed below are the People and Joborder screen, with the JobMatch hotlists open at the bottom; and the Joborder Screen, with it's People Jobmatch grid displayed, showing those candidates that are process of being presented to the hiring authority.

The People and Joborder Hotlists - at the bottom of the screen above, in Red and Yellow - is where recruiters will manually "MATCH" a person to a joborder. The recruiter can drag a person into the People list, drag joborders into the Joborder list, or they each can auto-fill the list, after runing a keyword/text search. By performing a MATCH, selecting "Q", "C" or "S", the person is inserted into the Joborder's Match table, and only those people will be - for the time being - considered to fill the opening.

On the Joborder screen, with the People Jobmatch tab/grid displayed, each row is highlighted by a color signifying it's current phase in that on-going process; red= qualified, but still undergoing certain evaluations, green= cleared to send, but not absolutely ready to send resume; blue= ready to send resume to hiring authority. In this way, ONLY those candidates who are ready to be sent, ARE sent. Also of note, is the rightmost column, called "SUCCESS" which is colored, red, magenta, and yellow, for HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW chance of success of that person filling the joborder.

Of particular interest on this tabpage, is the "Match People by Keywords" button, above the grid. Based upon the keywords chosen for this Joborder - and organized into an "AND/OR/NOT" algorithm - all the people on the database who "qualify" are auto-inserted into this PeopleJobmatch grid, with their "Q", "C", or "S" switch set, and the SUCCESS set to "medium".
